Pensamentos e Sentimentos

Central das Artes, Porto de Mós

Pensamentos e Sentimentos was my first solo exhibition, which initially ran from February 7 to March 31 and was eventually extended until the end of May.

This exhibition brought together almost all of my canvases and some drawings, the result of different phases of my life. Each work was born out of moments when I needed to transform what I carried within me into color, texture, and form.

In Pensamentos e Sentimentos, I shared my restlessness, memories, and emotions — some clear, others almost indecipherable. They are fragments of my unconscious that took shape on the canvas, through colors seeking balance and materials chosen for how they made me feel in the moment.

More than just showing paintings, I opened a part of myself as I had never done before. Those who observed these works may have found in them something of their own, because we all carry thoughts that become entangled and feelings that demand a voice.

I also had the great pleasure of conducting guided tours for 6th-grade students from Escola EB2 Dr. Manuel de Oliveira Perpétua. It was a fantastic feeling of fulfillment because, even though they were only between 10 and 14 years old, each of them already carries their own life story. It was fascinating to see how some of my works resonated with them and how they were able to identify the meaning that was embedded within them.

At the end of each visit, I suggested that they write down what they had felt or thought after seeing the exhibition. The words they left were beautiful and deeply moving. Without a doubt, it was a unique and enriching experience that I cherish dearly.

I would also like to express my profound gratitude to the Municipality of Porto de Mós for the opportunity, support, and assistance provided during the exhibition. A special thank you to Jorge Figueiredo, Sónia Morgado, and Neuza Cordeiro for their guidance and dedication throughout this journey.
